After living with Fabio’s friend Rogerio for over 2 months in Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil, Birita finally rejoined Fabio and I in Joinville, SC, Brazil. We drove to Sao Paulo on Saturday morning, a six hour drive, and were reunited with Bi at Starbucks (of all places!). She was very happy to see us! On the drive home on Sunday, Bi and I hung in the back seat, most of the time just staring at each other. Bi is still very much a momma’s girl and has been following me around the house non-stop. It’s so good to have her back!

September 1st, 2009Our daily ritual consists of going up the block to the best coffeehouse in the city – Java Girl. Everyone knows Bi there… If I happen to pass by the coffee shop without her, everyone asks about her. It’s like her Cheers – everyone knows her name. Even strangers can’t resist asking her name – when I tell them Birita they think that her name is Burrita (like Burrito). Although she is looking a little like a burrito these days, the correct spelling is B-I-R-I-T-A. So most times I introduce her as Bi. It’s easier.
